🎃👻 HO HO HO… HALLOWEEN CONNECTS! 👻🎃
A huge, spooky *THANK YOU* to the over **386 spooky-beautiful guests** at our Halloween party in Bruchköbel! With your spooky energy, you made the event the biggest and spookiest celebration our community has ever experienced! Witches, ghosts, monsters and brave souls floated through the darkness until 10 p.m. and celebrated exuberantly.
We ate over 350 fragrant waffles, enjoyed 85 liters of mulled wine, 24 liters of hot orange juice and many cups of warm apple wine - all for a good cause! Special thanks go to our many hard-working helpers and to the Kinzigheimer Hof, represented by Alexandra Schneider, who made their "ghost huts" available to us *free of charge*.
Our scary make-up station transformed the little ones into terribly beautiful monsters, and over 100 photos were taken with our scary clown Pennywise! 🎈 All of the guests were generous, and together we raised over €800. The company MB Inkasso & Erm GmbH, represented by Michael Bruehmann and Nina Müller, topped up the sum to an incredible €1,000!
Thanks to your donations and support, we have now found someone to whom we would like to send this amount.
This is Jörgen’s story – the story of a fighter who has lived through more than just a nightmare:
In 2021, Jörgen was diagnosed with a rare and serious brain tumor, a meningeal melanocytoma, and underwent surgery. Unfortunately, the operation did not go as hoped and Jörgen had to spend a long time in the intensive care unit, completely paralyzed - but fully conscious. In the midst of the corona pandemic, his son Jan was not allowed to visit him, and the family could only be there for him to a limited extent.
After an intensive therapy phase with radiation, dietary changes and alternative methods, things finally seemed to be getting better. But in August 2023, doctors discovered two new tumors and "nodules" in the lumbar region that are continuing to grow. The current MRI images (08/24) show that the tumors are continuing to spread. Radiation of the spinal axis was deemed not feasible, and Jörgen's type of tumor is so rare that there is hardly any research into it.
But Jörgen is not giving up. After intensive research, he and his family have discovered cell therapy as their last hope. This therapy could stimulate his immune system so that it works specifically against the cancer cells. With incredible discipline, Jörgen has fought his way back to life and just wants to carry on living. Even if it is only an attempt, we want to take this step for Jörgen, for Jan and for the family.
Thanks to your support, we can make a small contribution to this courageous journey. With this Halloween party, you not only created a fantastic night, but also set a sign of hope - for Jörgen and his family.
